Privacy policy
ready5 is published by Out of Towners Media LLC, a Nevada limited liability company ("we"). This policy explains what the ready5 app and website collect, why, and what you can do about it.
Who can use ready5
ready5 is for people 16 and older, and we ask you to confirm your age when you create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has used ready5, email us and we will delete the account.
What we collect
- Account information. If you signed up with an invite code: your name as we know you, your invite code, and, if you choose to link it, your Google account ID and email address. If you signed up with Google: your name and email address from Google, your Google account ID, and when you agreed to these terms. Each phone you sign in on gets its own sign-in key; we keep only a scrambled (hashed) copy of it.
- Your answers. When you record an answer, the audio is sent to our servers so it can be turned into text and analyzed. We keep the resulting text, your scores, timing, pace, pause and filler-word results, a loudness timeline, the question, and the rewrites you were shown and picked. History and streaks are built from this.
- Full Panel sessions. For a mock panel we keep both questions, the text of both answers, their timing and filler-word results, the three panelists’ scores and comments, the debrief, and whether you said the follow-up felt real. Panel recordings are not saved on your device or our servers.
- Focus Sets. The areas you pick, the questions you were shown, and for each answer its score, length, filler count, and how long you took to start speaking. The answers themselves are kept like any other answer. If you give ready5 a job posting (its link or its text), the posting is read, and sent to the AI provider named above, only to choose questions for you; we keep just its title, the website it came from, and the few words of it matched to each area, not the posting itself.
- Subscriptions. If you subscribe to ready5 Pro in the Android app, Google Play takes the payment. We never see your card or bank details. Our billing provider, RevenueCat, tells us your plan, when it renews or ends, the store it was bought in, and whether it was a test purchase. If you buy extra Full Panels, it tells us each purchase and its date, and we record when each panel is used. RevenueCat knows you only by a random account ID, never your name, email address, or invite code.
- Usage records. How many answers you submit each day and week, so we can apply your plan's limits, and which feedback version you pick.
- Tester applications. If you apply to test ready5 on our website, your name, email address, the track you pick, and anything you tell us about what you're preparing for. To limit spam, we also keep a scrambled, one-day record of the network the application came from (never the address itself). It is cleared the next day.
- Technical logs. Our hosting provider records basic request information, such as time and errors, to keep the service running.
What stays on your phone
Your video and audio recordings are saved only on your device. We do not store recordings on our servers. If you delete the app, clear your browser data, or delete an attempt, the recording is gone and we cannot recover it.
How your audio and text are processed
To give you feedback, we send your audio and the text of your answer to AI services, including speech-to-text and language models from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google, through Cloudflare. They process the data to return a transcript, a score, and rewrites. We do not keep the audio after processing. Please do not include sensitive personal information about other people in your practice answers.
How we use information
- To run the app: analyze your answers, show your history and streaks, and sign you in.
- To give you the plan you pay for, and keep it in step with Google Play.
- To improve ready5, for example comparing which feedback versions people prefer.
- To review tester applications and email you about testing.
- To keep the service safe and within its limits.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers needed to run ready5: Cloudflare (hosting, database, and AI access), the AI providers named above, Google if you use Google sign-in, and, if you subscribe, Google Play (payments) and RevenueCat (subscription records). We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and history until you delete your account or we end your test account. Either way, deleting your account removes your server history, your Google link, your usage records, your subscription record and extra-panel purchases, and your account record (including your name and email address). Your invite code stops working, or, if you signed up with Google, you are signed out on every phone. We also ask RevenueCat to delete its record of you. One thing stays for up to 7 days: if you signed up with Google, the times of answers you got coached in the 7 days before you deleted, stored under a scrambled (hashed) form of your Google account ID and nothing else, so a new account on the same Google account starts with the same weekly limit. Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription, so cancel it in Google Play first. Google keeps its own purchase records under its privacy policy.
We keep a tester application until we review it. When we invite you or decline the application, we delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner by emailing us.
Your choices
- Delete your account and data from inside the app, or follow the steps on our delete account page.
- Unlink Google any time from the Today screen.
- Ask for a copy or correction of your information by emailing us.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with Cloudflare. No method of storing or sending data is perfectly secure, but we limit what we keep, and we do not store recordings.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
